WHO WE ARE

Borne out of passion and necessity ...

We've been running face-to-face courses and tastings since 2013 at our sister restaurant, wine merchant, and wine academy, The Pipe of Port, in Southend-on-Sea. As our colleagues in the industry will attest to, things have been on a knife-edge since March 2020 when our doors closed indefinitely. 

We may have been down - but we were certainly not out; we decided to embrace technology and bring our wine tastings and winemakers into people's houses - and in doing so discovered that this was not just a case of making the best out of a bad situation, but came with its own benefits. 

Being able to bring our winemakers to you from their vineyards and wineries all over the world (and no longer having to rely on them jumping on a plane); bringing friends, family or colleagues together, wherever they may be, for an evening of vinous enlightenment and frivolity (without the need for babysitters or taxis); and giving people the opportunity to gain qualifications who may otherwise not have been able to due to travel or time restrictions all convinced us that this was a format that we did not want to abandon upon the gradual reopening of our country ... and Evingelical was born.
